How Gurtam Scales Efficient Worldwide Operations With Gemini and TeraSky
Gurtam is a leading global developer of telematics software. Their fleet management and GPS tracking software is used by thousands of businesses and runs on fleets in over 160 countries, requiring skilled operation management among teams all across the globe.
When TeraSky, a Google Premier Partner, first approached Gurtam’s team about Gemini, it came as no surprise that the company was already using AI tools. Gurtam had already integrated AI into its product solutions and systems to enhance technical support, facilitate complex case solutions, and provide specialized internal AI assistants.
Seeing the current benefits of AI to their customer satisfaction and team’s workload, introducing Gemini to Workspace was a natural step for Gurtam. To better understand how Gemini and the collaboration with TeraSky helped Gurtam’s team, we spoke with their Head of IT Sergey Kulish and Lead IT Specialist Vladimir Nikitin.

Both Sergey and Vladimir were avid users of chat-based AI tools like Gemini and pointed out clear benefits of using them on a daily basis:
Previously, when you needed help with some IT admin thing that you didn’t know, you had to spend a lot of time going through search results, reading every answer on forums and elsewhere. Using AI lets you cut back on this.

Somehow, I didn’t end up working less hours. (laughs) But I have to say that in general, AI saves a lot of time.

So once you’re equipped with a tool like Gemini, you can dedicate more time to deep work and mentally challenging tasks. It makes the work more fulfilling over the long term and is a massive advantage regardless of the role one has.
The benefits and limitations of Gemini for Workspace
Despite using other tools in the past, the team at Gurtam found Gemini for Google Workspace to be the most convenient option over time.
I have mostly moved to Gemini now. I used to ask three LLMs at once to see how the answers compare and if they are consistent. Now, I initially turn to Gemini and the answer it gives fully satisfies me most of the time. There’s no need to look further.

Both interviewees quickly pointed out that it’s important to have the right expectations for this category of tools as they have their limits.
For example, Gurtam’s multi-language sales team is looking forward to updates that will improve Gemini’s performance with call transcripts in languages other than English. But these gaps in performance get addressed on an ongoing basis and are just a temporary nuisance.
One thing they especially liked was how easy it is to access Gemini from your working environment. It is hard not to use it when it’s so easily accessible in the tools one already works with on Workspace.

Using Gemini to deal with 100,000 emails
Aside from the obvious, Gemini for Workspace also had some unexpected benefits.
Gurtam transitioned to Google Workspace a couple of years ago, but many team members continued to use third-party email clients out of habit. The ability to use Gemini directly within Gmail became a turning point, motivating many to transition fully to Gmail and use all of its advantages.
I was into using email clients even when the company switched to Gmail. Now, with Gemini, Gmail for me is just perfect. I tried to use Outlook recently and it’s just not the same.

While 100,000 emails might be an extreme case, even managing 1,000 plus emails can be overwhelming. Gemini’s ability to efficiently process large volumes of data makes for an incredibly useful assistant for quickly finding the right information within Gmail or elsewhere.
Getting a head start with workshop from Google and TeraSky experts
